The Mini Coaxial Reel is designed to make the launcher compact while feeding line quickly with low friction. It is modeled after the popular Zip reel made with the Saunders Archery zip reel (no longer available), but scaled to fit nicely in the PADS (or other 18 inch tool) case. It is a 3D printed reel approximately 15 inches in circumference, 5 1/4 inches or 135mm diameter. It is smaller and stronger than the Zip reel. It will hold about 250 yards of Launch Line, and comes preloaded with 125 yards of 50 pound test yellow Spectra based low stretch line. It friction fits on the end of the barrel and is easily removable for travel, storage or convenient winding up after a launch. Note that if the line is wrapped behind the line holder during launching it will snap. The line must be only lightly retained in the front side of the holder for it to be able to pull free when launching. This improved model has a line holder built in. It also has a 2" section of barrel material inside to extend the barrel length. The spokes allow a good clear view through the reel for aiming. This reel is included in the PADS launcher sets as well as with the 17 and 19 Mini Coaxial combinations. This is our most popular reel. Note that if the line is wrapped around behind the line holder during launching it will snap. The line must be only in front of the line holder (toward the direction of ball travel), and lightly retained for it to be able to pull free when launching.
