Honking Launcher

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Tonite I was testing a launcher that I am building for a customer. It had the recently noted ‘honking launcher’ problem. I tried a few of the new air dusters and several of them had the problem.

Recommendation to Kit Builders - Don’t cement the trigger to brass elbow and brass elbow to valve top joints until AFTER launcher performance testing. If you have a bad trigger contact us.

I am working on a measurement system to test the triggers before they are shipped. This may create an additional delay in shipping some launchers, but we want them to work properly.

If your launcher won’t make at least 100 feet of elevation with 50 psi it may have this problem. Contact us.

Built launchers shipped after this date will have test firings with tennis balls, rather than the dry firing testing that was used before.

Back from Emcomm

Monday, May 7th, 2007

We had a good presentation and show at Emcomm West. It is nice to be back home, but the schedule is very full with upcoming weekend trips and work for the next several weeks including Dayton Hamvention!

Order backlog and workload are such that we have temporarily disabled the assembled product options (they show out of stock) . We will focus our available effort on the orders we have now, as well as new orders for kits, parts and accessories. Assembled order options will be turned on again when we are caught up with the backlog and time is available for them.

RSS feeds can be set up to monitor the news updates here, so you can see when the ordering for assembled units gets turned back on.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Emcomm West

We are preparing for Emcomm West (May 4-5-6). We will do a presentation on Saturday at 9:30 AM and have some Antenna Launchers at the *Change* Buddipole Antenna booth. Come by and say hi if you are in the area.

The next several weekends are travel, so production will slow. We have kit parts but shipping and building launchers will stretch out.

FDLog version 1.146 has been posted and some cleanup done on the website. This is the version from last June but an older version had been posted at qsl.net, so it is not clear that everyone had the newer versions. It has some important improvements in log editing and color coding. The qsl.net site has new links to the site here.
