RadioFest!

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

This next Saturday February 24th we will be in Monterey, CA for the Radiofest! Come by and say hello! We have table #31, right next to Elecraft!

SDR21 barrel material - Have another batch on order, from a different manufacturer. It will be white instead of gray. Thanks for the tip, Ingvar! Also have triggers on order, hopefully those two parts will not be hard to supply in the future.

Component Shortages

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

If it is not one thing, it is another. With the recent surge of orders we have just about run out of SDR21 barrel material, and the supplier that was so consistently quick and reliable indicates they cannot.. This may take awhile to sort out. Orders already in the queue at this moment are okay, but new orders may be delayed pending finding a new supplier, or we may have to resort to schedule 40 material (thicker, tighter for the tennis balls).

On another component front, the triggers appear to again be available from Harbor Freight online, hopefully this will continue.

The 4″ PVC  endcaps used in the CSV19 have also been in short supply lately. The 3″ parts used in the CSV17 are easier to find. We have enough for the moment.

We have switched over to the CSV17 launcher for just about all our field use. It is smaller and lighter and it reaches to 160 feet or more. This seems to be more than enough for most purposes. The 3″ joints are a bit easier to cement than the 4″ joints, and the CSV17 fits into a much smaller container for storage and transportation. It is also lighter and uses less energy per launch, and allows the option of using 12 gram CO2 cylinders and a bicycle tire adapter for launch power.

Quartzfest was fun, now back to work

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

We had a lot of fun at Quartzfest. Now we are back, and working hard to catch up with orders. The batch in process now should be done early next week..

We are testing shipment via UPS for domestic orders.

Thanks for your support!
